All the kids lined up for the egg hunt...(well except Dylan as he took a spill in the yard and had a bummed knee...and maybe a little embarrassment going on too...but grandma got him some eggs....) Finally...we had a Easter that was nice weather. I remember last year having an egg hunt outside and the kids did it so fast cause it was freezing out. Mother nature was good to us and we had warm weather!

This Easter we were in Cuba. The Bunny didn't forget where we were and 3 little boys were so happy for that. It was fun for them to search for their baskets in a different house. Although I think the Bunny could of hid them harder. ;) Saturday morning the boys had us up and out of the house. I had a baby shower to go to and Brett and the boys stayed behind. Baby Shower was for a little girl....I loved all the pink....but only enough to want "pink" for a minute and then I quickly reminded myself how much "blue" I have at home and that's all I can handle. :) After the shower, we went to Aunt Joyce's for an egg hunt, good food, and lots of laughs. It was our first egg hunt with all of them and the boys had a lot of fun and I think the girls did a great job!

Sunday morning the boys were up and ready to find those baskets. Once they find them...which took about 2 seconds....they tore into them. That bunny is so smart and got them lots of stuff they can use this summer in Virginia. After baskets, we met my Dad at Sprague's for breakfast. I love breakfast! It was nice to visit with him. Darn hormones...they certainly got the best of me. But I'll blog about emotions some other time. We had a wonderful Easter dinner at Grandma Holden's. The boys had so much fun playing with the kids and of course more laughs.

Welcoming 2010....

I have no idea what she has in store for us - but I am excited to find out........

We had a great New Years weekend. I told the boys they could stay up but nobody made it. Brett woke up long enough to see the ball drop. After I watched some of the show - I made my way to bed. We were going to get together with my sister - who was also home, doing nothing - but with us both having kids neither of us wanted to go out in the cold after midnight. Boring, I know! Then my Dad reminded me that there was years where he couldn't keep me home on New Years....guess that is what kids do to you. I did tape the ball drop to show the boys and out of Dylan's mouth came "that's it....that was boring!"

On New Years Day I took Dylan to BCC to go ice skating. We also went with my sister. Shaun can skate and so can Karly so the 3 of them took to the ice. Dylan LOVED IT! It was his first time and he had a blast. Thanks to Uncle Shaun for showing him how to skate. He used the bar for support and did really well. Wants to go again. So now I'm checking into skate classes as he wants to get into hockey next year. Then we had a great dinner and when the kids went out to play in the snow - us adults had some Wii time! :)

I can't forget too that Cody finally lost his bottom right tooth on New Years day. It was in his mouth when he woke up. Finally it fell out. So the tooth fairy came and he's sporting a new smile!
Saturday we were off to Karly's first basketball game. She is cheering for St. Anthony's and she loves it. Can I just say how weird it is to see her on the court. I remembered back to when it was me. I loved cheering. She did great and they have a great coach and I can't wait for their competition.
Then Sunday came the day of getting my house back to normal. Our toy room looks like a mini toys-r-us anyways and then add new toys from Christmas and I felt like I was tripping. With the tree down, the room opened back up and we feel "put together". Very anxious to get the toy boxes that my dad is making. My lights are still up outside but those are going to wait for warmer weather.

Next up......Brett has surgery on the 12th to have his tonsils and adenoids removed. Plus they are shaving his uvula and trenching his palate. Yah, he's gonna be sore. But even bigger, Cody and Dylan turn 6 in less than 3 weeks. I have NO Idea where that time has gone. So we are busy planning a party and they are super excited.

"Is Santa coming tonight"??????

That is the question I get asked nightly when tucking my 3 little boys into bed. No.......not tonight but very soon. My 3 are super excited for Christmas. They are trying to be as well behaved as possible - even though that is extremely hard at times. I'm trying to find those extra patients as well, that is hard at times too! But.....with a few late nights, a few longer than normal shopping trips, I am wrapped, menu is planned, food is bought, stocking stuff is ready, teacher gifts are delivered, xmas cards out and the Luckey house is ready for the big man in red to come! :)

Yesterday the boys all had their school parties. I am still trying to figure out how to be in two classrooms at the same time. I visited Dylan's class first and then went to Cody's. By the time I got back to Dylan's - they were done. Thankfully, Tyler's was in the afternoon and at a different school. Today is the last day before they break for Christmas. I am looking forward to having a week to myself and eating normal lunches. I am sure my mom is NOT looking forward to the week as she will have them all day!

Last weekend, we went to Cuba to have Christmas with the Luckey's. It is always crazy when everybody is home but so much fun. The kids have a blast playing together. We were 1 grandkid shy this year as baby Samuel is still in the hospital but with any luck he'll be home soon.

On our way home, we stopped at my Dad's to see what was in the workshop. For those that don't know, my Dad is awesome with wood and making things. I have many beautiful items in my house that he has made over the year. I really hoped some day he would do something for my boys. He is! They are all getting toy boxes. Not sure what I'm doing with 3 of them but trust me - I am sure we will have no problem filling them! :) They will have them forever and know that he put a lot of time and effort into them. I will post pictures when we get them.

Gearing up for the next few days. Not much planned for Xmas eve. Brett has to work which is a total bummer. They are letting them out 2 hours early but for Brett that is 9pm.....big deal. So I think we will decorate some cookies, bake some more and maybe do a good cleaning of the house so Santa has lots of room to leave his stash. Oh and I might need to pick up one more gift so I may have to hit the mall. yuck! Christmas day we are having everybody down for dinner at my house. This is a first and I'm looking forward to it. Brett will bake us lasagna and we'll have a nice Italian dinner. Saturday morning my brother comes home. I can not wait to get all 6 grandkids together. So much fun to be had over the weekend. Saturday we'll do gifts from my mom and to each other and then Sunday we plan to have a fun outside day at Tanya's. Shaun has been busy making his own ice rink. (that might be a little redneckish...but it will be fun)

Holiday Catch-up

We had a really nice Thanksgiving. Had dinner at my mom's and got to enjoy her yummy turkey. I tried my hand at a couple peanut butter/chocolate pies and they were super yummy too. After dinner we did the normal, sat down with the sale ads to see what we "had to have". I did take one for "team shopping" early Thursday morning. After we woke up, Cody and I headed out to pick up the paper. I go no where without a shower and my hair/make-up done. I threw pants on and my coat, combed my hair, put a little eye liner on and we were off. I looked "fantastic"! LOL...but I got a paper and who cares. :)

I talked my mom and sister into embarking on our first Black Friday ever. We woke up early Friday morning - 4am and headed to Target. I was shocked at the line of people. I have never seen that out shopping. We entered the store that was jammed pack, no carts and headed in our own ways to get the deals we came to get. I have to say we succeeded. At about 6am, Tanya said we better find the check out line and so we did. We waited for over an hour. It was pure fun. You totally have to be a shopper to appreciate it all. An adrenalin rush is all I can think of. After all of that shopping, I had to work. I will totally take off next year. Once I got home I decided that I had to keep going. If I stopped I would crash. So instead we got out the tree and decorated.

Now the count down is on to Christmas. The boys have made list after list and want everything under the sun. Santa is figuring out what they really want. The goal is to finish shopping and decorating, do some baking and enjoy the holidays with family!

I'm thankful for:

I thought today would be the best day to think of some of the things I am thankful for. Since it's 2009, I'll pick 9 things, in random order of course. I asked the boys tonight as we sat down to dinner what they were thankful for and I got....

Tyler - "I'm thankful for my toys".....(what 4 year old wouldn't say that)
Dylan - "I'm thankful for my family"....(ah that is so sweet especially coming from the kid who told his father today that "you woke up in a good mood today")
Cody - "I'm thankful for all of my bakugan and my family"..... (glad the virtual world is before the real world)

Now "my" turn:

1. I am thankful for my family. I have an amazing husband who I have loved for a very long time, 14 years exactly and some might even say longer than that. I have 3 amazing little boys that have taught me so much in their short years on this earth. I have a wonderful mother who is my best friend and teaches me many wisdom's in life. I have the best sister that any person could ask for. She truly is my best friend and I would be lost without her. I have a very heroic brother who I think of every night before I go to bed to make sure he is safe at night as he protects and serves and I only wished I saw him more. My sister and brother have the best families who I love with all my heart. I have a pretty great Dad as well, even though our relationship has been tested over the past 5 years I have faith that I will gain back some of what was lost, or at least I will try. I also can't forget the "in-law" family that without them I wouldn't have my husband.

2. I am thankful for amazing doctors. I had an amazing doctor that helped us conceive the first time. Little did I know, I ended up with another amazing doctor who monitored me very closely and let me give birth to healthy twins. Just when I thought doctor's were done, I found that I would become super close to another set of amazing doctors in Syracuse at the CNY cleft and craniofacial center. Just after them we found an amazing dentist who is doing wonders.

3. I am thankful for another set of family - that is my craniofacial family. I have met the most amazing kids, amazing parents and at times this family might just take a step above my regular family. Some people think what we face with Cody is "fixed" and "done" but they couldn't be more wrong and this family "gets it" and has "been there, done that" and I know I can share anything with them. Thank you AmeriFace!!!!

4. I am thankful I have a great job and work with great people. I've been there for 8 years and in a way this group has also become family. I think I see them more than my own. Every job has the pluses and minus but we make the most of it and enjoy our day.

5. I am thankful for the things we have and what we don't. I really believe that all good things come to those that wait.

6. I am thankful for the Internet. Is that dumb? Without the Internet I couldn't type my thoughts to share with my kids later, I wouldn't be able to connect with old friends, I wouldn't be able to shop and search for items that my local store can't provide.

7. I am thankful for my health and the health of my family. I can take the occasional cold or flu, ear infection, even will take the thyroid problem of Cody and all that he has been through to know that for now, in the end all is OK. I however realize that that can change and I am watching an amazing women put up a great fight and her courage is something I hope one day I have if need be.

8. I am thankful for my friends. As you get older and lives change you do see who your true friends are as they have changed with you.

9. I am thankful......for...........all the things I didn't write. For all the things big and small. For being able to wake up in the morning, watching all the parades with my boys, cook up some pies and green bean casserole (my addition to dinner), load my family in the car and head to my Mom's house where we will sit down and have a great dinner. Laugh, stuff ourselves, wish my brother was there, make a couple jokes all in good light, search the sale flyer's, eat again and come home and sleep like no tomorrow.

Halloween festivites / sick kids

The Halloween festivities are all over. We had lots of fun this year with the boys being in school. Tyler had his party on Thursday. He wanted to take cupcakes so I baked em and Daddy frosted them. He had fun with his friends.

Thursday, Cody had ran a temp on and off all day. By the end of school, he came home and hit the couch. I was hoping it would end at that. It didn't! About 11:30, he woke up getting sick. Then again at 2am. No school for him on Friday which also meant he had to miss all of his school fun. He was so sad as he really was looking forward to wearing his costume. I'm a room mom in each class, so I went back to help out in Dylan's class. It was so fun to really meet some of the kids that he talks about all of the time. I over heard one kid ask him "is that your mom"......I remember always loving when my mom could come to school for events. Kids love that! As his party was winding down, Cody's class was just starting. Even though he wasn't there, I thought I would stop down and help. His teacher is so sweet and was shocked to see me. She said she missed him and was so sad he wasn't there. Me too! She rounded up some stuff for me to take home to him. I went back for the parade and got Dylan all ready. The kids looked awesome in their costumes. Brought back so many memories of my parade walking days. As I was standing in front of the van, Cody's teacher came by and was really hoping that I had brought Cody to watch. The kids wanted to stop and say Hi. I love his teacher!

Halloween day was good to the boys. Cody woke up feeling much better, still tired, still coughing but the fever was gone. So they waited as patiently as they could till it was time to go out trick or treating! The Smith's came down and my mom for pizza and then it was time! Costumes were put on and we were off. The got lots of candy and had fun. Brett and I just strolled together as they went from door to door. They have the routine down pat. Connor was a little slow and brought up the rear but he did great. When we thought it was time to stop, Karly, Tyler and Dylan didn't want to stop. So they kept walking while Connor and Cody went back home.

This morning Dylan woke up with a fever. It's been hoovering around 100 and he's been on the couch for most of the day. He's coughing and not eating. I know he doesn't feel good when he doesn't eat. He always eats! :) Tylenol seems to be working but only lasting 4 hours. Just waiting to see what day Tyler gets it. I know it's coming. :(

Today was also the last day of football games. Yeah! I get my husband back on the weekends now. We have missed him! And I must note that he got extremely lucky this year.....he did not have one game in the rain. It might have sprinkled but he never got soaked. Very lucky and probably won't happen again.

So what is up in the coming weeks. ..... Tanya has to have surgery tomorrow as she is getting a partial hysterectomy done. Gonna be a long recovery but hopefully it goes quick for her. Cody goes to Syracuse on the 9th for a meeting with Dr. Tatum and with Dr. Dillingham for an adjustment to the expander. Not sure why Dr. Tatum wants to see him so my nerves are already kicking in. Connor has his 3rd birthday and then there is Thanksgiving!!! Yum, Yum! I love turkey day. I love the food, especially my mom's turkey! And of course...the countdown is on till the big man comes!!!!

Pumpkin Carving '09

It's funny how far we have come with the pumpkin carving. First it's all Brett and I who create, cut and let's face it - just get excited. Ok, maybe just me...Brett humors me! :) Well this year, we supervised. The boys are old enough to do most of it themselves. I got smart last year and put down a plastic table cover on the table. I remember when I was young, we used paper bags from the grocery store. Well now you only get plastic or use recycled. I hate spending the money for the birthday parties on the decorated table covers but if you can re-use them then all the better. So, we lay that down....put all the guts and goo on it and clean up is a piece of cake! Brett cut off the lid and the boys went to town scooping the insides out. Then we drew the faces they asked for and they got the knife. Yes, 3 little boys with knives was pretty scary but they did a great job. They followed our lines and cut out the eyes and nose. After we drew out the mouths, they were "tired" so Brett and I cut 3 mouths. I think they did a great job!

Happy 4th of July

My 3 reasons to celebrate!

We had a great 4th of July in Cuba. We had many wonderful picnics with lots of good food and great laughs. The rain held off Friday night so we could see some pretty fireworks and thanks to Grandpa Cody got to enjoy them too. He doesn't do well with the loud noises and Grandpa gave him a head set and they worked like a charm. Saturday we had a great picnic at Aunt Joyce's. The kids got to swim....the adults played Kan Jam, woffle ball (with many slips in the mud), and everybody enjoyed a playstation 2 game of karaoke. Such a great time! Sunday, we cooked out to celebrate Brett's parents 40th wedding anniversary. The kids got to swim as that was really our nicest day of the weekend. But let's face it - to kids they don't care how cold the water is - they just want in it. It was an exhausting weekend and every night the boys crashed the minute their head hit the pillow.

They played hard and had fun and that's all that matters!

Weekend Catch Up

We spend the Memorial Weekend in Cuba at the in-laws. It wasn't exactly a fantastic trip home but the kids had lots of fun playing outside, seeing the animals, playing with their cousins, etc....and I didn't have to do much house work allowing me to soak up some sun rays and read a magazine.

We did however have some highlights from the weekend. For some Saturday night fun we went with Grandpa to get ice cream and then came back and got out the tee to hit some balls around the yard. Dylan was soaking in every word that Grandpa said. We had told him that Grandpa used to coach Brett and with Grandpa's help they got him hitting off the tee even better. He's now batting left handed and doing really well at it. Keeps his foot planted and can smack it pretty good. Then he showed him how to get "set" in the outfield waiting for the ball. Dylan really enjoyed that special time. Sunday we got the see all the Bradley's (Brett's sister and family) for a cook out and a birthday celebration for Nicole and Daniel. The kids were dying to get into the pool so in they went. It was cold but kids could care less. Dylan picked right up where he left off last summer - swimming like a fish. Cody seemed to move up a notch. He actually ventured away from the sides and experienced the whole pool. Tyler put water wings on so that was also a step up. I can't wait for more swimming days ahead.

So all in all a good weekend. I have some other feelings to post but those will have to wait for another day when my thoughts are more collected.

Mother's Day 2009

I hope everybody had a nice mother's day. I did! No breakfast in bed but my boys did sleep in till 9:30 and for that I am very grateful. I love to sleep in. Then it was sort of business as usual so we could get around and up to my sisters. The boys and Brett did get me some really great smelling lotions and a new beach chair. Can't wait to use the chair in a couple of months at the beach. Then we headed to my sister's for a chicken bbque and spent some time outside watching the kids and enjoying time with our mom. I hope everybody had a wonderful day!

My sister, my mom and I......(funny story....we all wore black today. Had no idea that we were all dressing the same but as I got to the house and was the last one we all sort of laughed when we saw we had on black) Me and my boys.....Yah, this picture was like pulling teeth. OMG....nobody wanted to smile, Dylan didn't want to be in it. His t-shirt he has on is so freaking true....100% Good, 10% of the time! It's funny and so true. Not that he is Bad, he is just so mischievous.

Saturday, Tanya and I took the kids to the Shrine Circus. We weren't going to go but then I got given free tickets so we went. Everbody went but Cody...he didn't want to so he spent the day with his Dad. The kids had fun and the circus was good as usual. Tyler rode on the pony - something neither of his brother's have done. Again he has to one up them.

Mother's Day Breakfast

This morning at school we had our mother's day breakfast. The teachers do a nice job of putting a little something on for us mom's. The boys all drew drawings that were then laminated as our placemats. I crack up looking at them as their drawings are all so different. Tyler's was basically scribble, Dylan's was a little better but not much and Cody's was pretty good actually. I've said it before - Dylan will be my sport kid and Cody appears to be my artsy kid. He'll be in a band I'm sure of it! He drew some pretty good stick people and a tree....Cute! Then we also got a planted flower that the kids decorated the pot. This year they sang a song "I ___ my mom on mother's day", filling in the blank with hug, love. Short and cute! My mom was able to come with us too so that was nice as well.

It is kind of surreal to stand there with 3 kids all in preschool together. Some days I want to pull my hair out with the 3 of them - but days like today all I could do was smile with pride!

Happy Mother's Day weekend as us mom's deserve more than just a day! :)

Weekend/Easter Update

Happy Easter to all. I hope everyone had a great time with family/friends. We kept busy over the weekend with a visit from Brett's cousins, aunt and uncle who were out for some AAU basketball. While I didn't get to see many of the games, Brett took them all in. We took the boys on Saturday and they enjoyed themselves. However, I think they enjoyed being chased by Uncle Mike after the games were over. Anything to run off energy.

Sunday we woke up to find the bunny had left lots of great treats. He hid plastic eggs around the house. My big burly Dylan was so sweet and gave some of his eggs to Tyler who was still waking up and wasn't into the whole "hunting" mood. I remember as a child that we were supposed to just find our basket and if we found somebody elses then to move on and don't tell. So I am trying to pass that on to the boys but I think they are still a bit young. I told them the color of their basket but they found Tyler's first. And time stood still. They all got so excited to see what Tyler got. Then Cody found Dylan's and finally Cody found his in the kitchen under the table. (silly bunny) They got lots of fun stuff. Cody got more bakugan's and pokemons that he just loves. Dylan screeched at everything like it was Christmas all over. He got an Animal Planet t-shirt and he was amazed that the bunny even knew he wanted that. (This Bunny is smart let me tell you) Plus he got a new monster truck and cool 3D book about the body. Both boys got new sheets for their bunk beds. Tyler got his own monster truck, another firetruck matchbox car and an ice cream truck car. He LOVES his matchboxes!!!

After the baskets....we had a surprise for them. We got them tickets to go see a monster truck show. (we go this Friday night). They were excited and it's all we have talked about since. Dylan is the most excited. He loves them. He will get up every morning before school and turn on the Speed channel and watch Monster Jam. While the trucks we are seeing aren't Monster Jam, we will be seeing the AMP trucks. So I hope he isn't disappointed. Tyler likes them too and Cody, well he could probably really care. But we are all going. They aren't all going to like the same stuff but they have to learn that we have to support each other while some are carrying out their dreams. I have a story to tell about getting our tickets but I'll save it for the Monster truck post.

To finish out our Easter Sunday, we headed to my sister's for an egg hunt and dinner. The bunny hid lots of eggs around the yard and the kids had a blast. Then we had a yummy dinner - minus the rolls. Oh yes, I have a roll story! :) We got some brown and serve. My sister put them in the over to bake. The bottom got done but not the top. So she moved it to the very top shelf and put it on broil. The broiler lights were probably an inch away. (you probably see where this is going). Well with all good intentions it was going to be there for a second. But the phone rang, the kids broke a glass and Karly was bleeding, the ham needed attention, I went to attend to broken glass, Karly was OK..........but the rolls - were not! She opened the oven and out came the smoke. They were b.u.r.n.t! Tanya whipped them into the garage - the dogs tried to eat them but they were to burnt for them and hot! So dinner with no rolls. I still find it funny!

Egg Coloring

We had a busy night of coloring eggs and making some yummy rice crispy treats that we put inside of plastic eggs. They turned out so cute! The boys had a blast and I can't wait to eat some devil eggs. Yummy!

Looking forward to the weekend. Brett's aunt/uncle and cousins will be in town for some AAU basketball games. Everyone is coming over for pizza/wings tomorrow and we will go watch some games on Sat. Looking forward to some fun. Then the bunny comes Sat. night. So excited for the boys to get their baskets. A big surprise is waiting inside for them......

Seems like forever ago...

I changed the background of the blog today and am gearing up for the Easter holiday. The bunny has been busy starting to buy for the baskets....we have dates set for upcoming egg hunts to go to.....the "bunny is watching" threat is starting to be used....but this picture brings back so many memories.

The boys were 3 months old, making Karly 3 years old. This was their first picture with the bunny. As you can tell they were sound asleep and really didn't care. It really does seem like yesterday that they were so little.

Check ups, Valentine's and Weekend Trip

I need to play some catch up.

Starting over the weekend. We headed to Maryland to go see my brother. We had a wonderful time. The boys were excellent car riders and nobody cried to get out of their seats. We got in lots of Jack time and I could just eat him up. He is such a good, happy baby and a little chunk. Friday I drove myself to Walmart (all by myself). Pretty proud of myself considering I really don't know my way around there. Then after Kristie got home from work and we ate dinner, we took the boys to Toys-r-us so they could shop and spend some birthday money. They picked out some awesome toys and were in heaven. Saturday, my Valentine boys got me a beautiful Open Heart necklace. I love it! Then We took the boys to CoCo's Funhouse. The place was filled with bounce houses of all shapes and sizes. They had a blast. Then we enjoyed some yummy pizza, I got to go shopping at my favorite country store and we all played some Wii. That was so fun!!! Sunday we headed home. Sad to leave but every good trip comes to an end.

Today Cody and Dylan had their 5 year check ups. A little late due to a cancellation with weather. They are both growing great and healthy. We switched it up this time and only took one in the room at a time. It was nice for me to concentrate on one at a time and I think they did better. So Dylan wanted to go first. Thankfully I don't have alot of health questions for him. He answered his questions and went through the check up motions. Came time for his shots and he was OK with it. He started to tear up at the 3rd one but he held em back. He liked his band aids and out he went. Just to meet Cody in the waiting room to tell him "I didn't get a shot"...and Cody read right through him and said "lift up your shirt and show me your arms".

Dylan weighed: 48 lbs. and is 43 3/4" tall.
Cody weighed: 44 1/2 lbs. and is 42 1/2" tall.

Cody came in the room next. We discussed his thyroid issue, my concern with his hearing and our upcoming palate expander for the spring. Our pediatrician was on the same page as I for it all so that was nice. She looked in his ears but really couldn't see much. He did not get his shots as he has a sinus infection and was put on amoxicillin.

We did hit a bump though. The boys had to do their eye test and that didn't go as expected. They were kind of all over the chart and the doctor feels it would be best for them both to go get a more in depth eye exam done. (this is where it felt like somebody punched me in the stomach). I could not believe it. Dylan's right eye is 20/70 and his left eye is 20/40. While Cody's eyes (both) are 20/50. Talked a little bit with my SIL as she works in an eye doctor office and she said that with those eye sights it wouldn't be out of the question for the doctor to write a script. BUT to get the better test done. So I am really hoping the other test comes back better. We go on March 2nd. I have always hoped and prayed the boys would get Brett's vision and not mine. Time will tell!

Today too, my nephew Connor had surgery. We went and got Karly last night and she spent the night. He did good through his surgery. Had a little hard time waking up from the anestia but after he finally drank something they got to leave the hospital. So happy that this is behind him.

New Years Day Sledding

Happy 2009! Kind of weird that it's 09 already. Seems like yesterday that I just got used to writing 08. After sleeping in for a little bit, we went to my mom's for some outside fun in the snow and a great Turkey dinner. I think my mom is one of the best cooks around and her turkey dinner was wonderful!!!!! We got to go sledding - ok, the boys and Brett went sledding and I was taking the pictures. The driveway was our hill and it worked great.

Here they come down the hill...aka...driveway. They had "no clue" how to steer the sled.Cody thought he was an airplane. They all thought it was fun to ride on Brett's back.

Next we tried the grass as there was a slight hill in the yard. It worked OK. Brett is lying down cause he fell. And of course I wasn't "taping" this one.

And this one....this isn't the best picture but if you look close you can see snow flying. That is because Dylan waiting at the bottom of the hill with a shovel full of snow. When Cody and Brett got close - he flung it at them. OMG - nobody was expecting it. Cody and Brett got it good! We laughed forever!!!Here is a great sledding video.....

Happy New Year

I will ring in the new year with the boys this year. Brett has to work. It really sucks especially because he doesn't get out of work till 12:30. I'm guessing he isn't going to sell many policies tonight. The boys have taken it easy this week not having school. It's been pajama day every day. Which is fine....I would love to sit around in my pj's all day. So tonight I got home from work, it's cold and snowy outside and I got into mine. Then the boys and I sat down to enjoy our last night of Nickelodeon (as it appears to be going off the air at 12:01 due to stupid negotiations with Time Warner). We enjoyed popcorn and milkshakes for dinner. None of us really felt like eating much. Cody is already asleep so before he shut his eyes he told me "2009 is my favorite number". Dylan and Tyler are watching SpongeBob but I am sure will be fast asleep by the time the ball drops. I hope to make it but we will see. My sister is at my brother's and I so wish I was there. We are going next week - we leave Thursday and I can't wait! My mom is going out, to a bar to listen to their favorite band. It seems the days have switched. I used to be going out and she staying home.

2008 was a good year for us........(in no order)
1. Tyler peddled a bike
2. Cody and Dylan went on their first airplane ride to Las Vegas
3. My nephew Jack was born
4. No surgeries
5. Brett became a varsity official
6. Tanya, Mom and I took all the kids to Knoebles and survived the day! :)
7. Cody was featured on the cover of the clinic brochure
8. Brett and I hosted our 2nd Annual Family day for the Lucky Smiles Families
9. Dylan "loved" the pool - especially doing "cannonballs".
10. 2009 will bring even more good memories...............Stay tuned throughout the year.

Hope Everyone had a Merry Christmas

The Luckey's had a great Christmas. Christmas Eve we went to my mom's for dinner and presents. The boys got lots of fun stuff. Then it was home to set up for Santa. We sprinkled oatmeal with sprinkles on the lawn so Rudolph could find his way. Then we left milk, cookies and carrots for Santa and his reindeer and a key around the front door as we don't have a chimney. Finally the boys went to sleep to dream of all the presents to come. Santa did a great job and we had 3 very happy little boys on Xmas morning. We finished the day with more presents and great food at my sisters. Only thing missing was my brother and his family.

On Friday we left for Cuba and had another great weekend with family and more presents and great food.

We are very lucky to have great families. And we love them very much.

A call from Santa

My Christmas boys!!!! Santa called from the North Pole tonight! (or Maryland, they are close right?) The boys were so surprised and full of smiles. It was so cute. Santa told them each to be good. Asked Cody about his pill he takes. Asked Dylan about the oatmeal he is leaving out for Rudolph. Tyler just grinned ear to ear. They were so excited. Dylan did say at one point "I don't think this is him"....then when Santa asked him "what do you want for Christmas" Dylan just sayed "I already told you". I've said it a million times - he is just like his father!

My little boys are sleeping and it's time to wrap. Have a very Merry Christmas!!!!!

Packing up.....Happy Early Turkey Day!

Well tomorrow we are heading to the in-laws for a nice long Thanksgiving break. We spent the evening packing and getting ready. You know, I hate packing when it's winter. I mean the clothes are thicker, take up more room, need to have extra cause I'm sure we will be outside in the snow. Oh yah, don't forget the boots, gloves, hats, snow pants - that's a whole other bag. But for the most part we are packed.

I hope everybody has a great Thanksgiving. I am ready for some turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, and don't forget the deserts. YUM! The boys colored turkeys at school today and listed their favorite treats. Dylan said Turkey....Cody said Lollipop. Um......OK.
