Dylan lost his 1st tooth

Yeah! Dylan lost his first tooth on Sunday! It has been loose for a while and he has worked at it. His adult tooth had started to come up behind it and we knew it wasn't long before the tooth fairy needed to visit. I can't believe he is 5 and lost a tooth already. The tooth had been very loose and just lying there but he wouldn't let us near it. He did however let John David near it (his cousin) and he grabbed it and it was all but out. The blood came and the look of shock came over Dylan. Brett grabbed a wet cloth and out it came. Yeah - the first tooth is out! The tooth fairy came and brought him $5. Some people thought this was a bit much. Whatever! Seriously, what can you buy for under $5 that is worth anything. So....check out this toothless grin! :)

And it's out...He's so happy...you can see the adult tooth already up behind it. Now it has room to move into position.

Weekend Catch Up

We spend the Memorial Weekend in Cuba at the in-laws. It wasn't exactly a fantastic trip home but the kids had lots of fun playing outside, seeing the animals, playing with their cousins, etc....and I didn't have to do much house work allowing me to soak up some sun rays and read a magazine.

We did however have some highlights from the weekend. For some Saturday night fun we went with Grandpa to get ice cream and then came back and got out the tee to hit some balls around the yard. Dylan was soaking in every word that Grandpa said. We had told him that Grandpa used to coach Brett and with Grandpa's help they got him hitting off the tee even better. He's now batting left handed and doing really well at it. Keeps his foot planted and can smack it pretty good. Then he showed him how to get "set" in the outfield waiting for the ball. Dylan really enjoyed that special time. Sunday we got the see all the Bradley's (Brett's sister and family) for a cook out and a birthday celebration for Nicole and Daniel. The kids were dying to get into the pool so in they went. It was cold but kids could care less. Dylan picked right up where he left off last summer - swimming like a fish. Cody seemed to move up a notch. He actually ventured away from the sides and experienced the whole pool. Tyler put water wings on so that was also a step up. I can't wait for more swimming days ahead.
So all in all a good weekend. I have some other feelings to post but those will have to wait for another day when my thoughts are more collected.

One of THOSE days

My day started out typical....hit the snooze on the alarm until the last possible minute. Then roll out of bed to get ready. Just to look forward to fighting with the boys to wake them up and get them ready. Once they are awake they are monsters and all the while I am trying to keep them quite not to wake Brett and Tyler up - who are so lucky to still be sleeping. Off to school we go and all is well. I decided not to have Tyler to go to school today so I could use my lunch hour to do errands instead of going to pick him up.

So at work, the managers were away so the mice must play. I did accomplish some major stuff but then Michelle, Jeff and I decided it was time to finally switch my cell phone over to my new phone. Not really new, new but new to me. Michelle gave me a flip phone so now I can text and write on a keyboard instead of punching the stupid button 4 times to get an 's'. So we are online and it's going smoothly until the very last screen where I forgot to change the number. Mind you I had only changed it 3 other times on the website. So we continue and yep, I de-activated Brett's phone. Oops. So I had to call him and get some numbers and it wouldn't work. Had to call Verizon directly for their help. Except I'm not "authorized"....so Brett had to add me and when the lady asked him if there way anything else she could help him with he just said "yah, help my wife fix my phone". Through it all I did get a "your amazing" from my husband. I think he was being sarcastic! :)

Then I was covering the reception desk (as our office was short staffed) and wouldn't I get a call from our CEO. He's a great man but aging and is around 80+ , his normal helpers weren't in the office and he asked "who else can help me get a flight"............darn it - that would be me! So I spent the day worrying about that and hoping he gets on his flight tomorrow morning.

At lunch I ran my errands and one of them consisted of going to Wegman's to get some snacks for our trip to grandma and grandpa's. As I was loading the groceries into my car - do I not realize in the cart, next to my purse is a bottle of hairspray I had picked up. And no, it wasn't paid for! OMG - I still feel really bad about that. Then I was waiting for store security to come and yell at me. Honest mistake really!

Finished out my "work" day......printing out Tyler's birthday invitations. Just to realize that I never put the date down on the invite. His birthday falls on a Saturday this year and so the party is on that day. I'm still shocked that everybody doesn't know when Tyler's birthday is....kidding.....so I had to many printed that I just had to write it in. UGH!

As I was driving home and heading to the highway do I not realize that I needed to go to the bank. So had to take a little detour. Tonight has just been crazy as I am packing to go to the in-laws and I have no idea what to pack. Wondering what the weather is really going to be like.

So I had one of "THOSE" days and I probably was trying to accomplish one to many things today. As soon as my kids fall asleep - I am going to go sit and relax in QUITE!

2nd Game - kind of commical

So tonight's game was a little bit more interesting. Not sure if we got better or took a step back. The first snag came when we learned the coach wasn't coming. I guess he had to work. So that is tough as the assistant coach was there but he didn't have the line up, didn't know what team we were playing, and the kids really don't know him. And there are way to many kids for 1 person. They have a hard enough time listening to a couple. So....Daddy got to be helper tonight. Which when it was over Brett said he wasn't sure if he could do that all the time. Some of these kids I have no idea why they are playing. I realize that none of them are fantastic and it's not the pro's and these kids are just starting BUT when they won't listen at all, they don't stay on the field, they are off doing god knows what and the parents are no where to be found. It makes it super tough. Me along with a few other mom's feel like we are stepping in. So just those couple of kids make it very hard to keep order amongst the others. Seriously, the parents should see that they have 0% interest in the game and should just go with that. I would!

Cody hittingIn the outfield with Dad....Yes, Brett is dressed up...that's because he was able to come on his lunch. And here is about the funniest thing I have seen in a super long time. Leave it to my children...We are up to bat for the first time in the game..because we didn't have the line up sheet Brett suggested we just bat in number order. So that means Dylan goes first. So he hits and runs to first. GREAT! Then it's Cody's turn. He hits and on his way to first - Dylan should be going to second. Instead, Dylan take a tiny detour and gets the ball in the outfield and throw it to first! OUT! :) LOL......yah, we needed to remind Dylan that they are on the same team and that he shouldn't try to get his brother out. That is what the other team is there to do. OMG!! To freaking funny!
So I'm hoping that next Thursday the kids can get back to a normal game. Hopefully the coach is there.

Field Trip - Part 2

On Wednesday both classes met at Pizza Uno for a fun field trip of making pizza and getting a tour of the restaurant. The kids love this as they can have hands on making their own pizza. And what kid doesn't like pizza! The pizza's were super yummy too! Thankfully the kids share! :)

Our 1st Teeball Game

Tonight in the very cool weather was the boys first teeball game. We played the Yankees and "smoked em". :) Just kidding...there is no winner/loser in teeball. They play 3 innings allowing every player on the team to bat. Once the last batter has bat, they run the bases and it's time to move to the outfield. My two did a great job. Had a couple good hits...Dylan popped it once. The main objective tonight was to hit, run the bases and throw the ball to first. Yah....throwing the ball to first we need to work on. But they had fun. Our next game is Thursday. We have games twice a week. The funny thing is to hear the coach in the outfield yelling at one of them to get the ball (not really yelling but trying to get their attention) and calling them by the wrong name. No wonder why they aren't running for the ball. :) It's funny!

Field Trip - Part 1

Today the boys all went on a field trip. They visited the local grocery store for a big tour. I didn't go as I had to work but Daddy took them. I guess they had fun. They seemed to remember more this year than last. And as they were telling me about it I realized just how exciting a grocery store can be for a bunch of 5 and 3/4 year olds. They were amazed by the loading dock, the box crusher, the big freezer, saw some lobsters, got a yummy cookie. It's cute to hear them tell the story. Next Wednesday we go to Pizza Uno for a tour of the pizza place and the kids all get to make their own. Cody and Dylan did this last year but this will be Tyler's first year.

I've been out of work at 3 the past couple of days as my mom had to have surgery. She had a fibroid tumor and polyp that needed removed. Surgery went well and she is recovering. Can I just say that I love leaving work at 3. I feel like I have so much more energy getting home then than I do at 5. My nights seem so much more relaxed. To bad that is ending tomorrow! :(

Hoping for the rain to stay away tomorrow. The boys have their last practice of teeball before their game on Monday. I am really hoping they get to have it.

Commercials.....I'm beginning to hate them. I took the boys tonight to Penney's as they were in desperate need of new sneakers. Well they have been seeing on TV commercials for Sketchers Airators. So we just HAD to get them. Thankfully they had the ones they picked out in their sizes. And these are for good. Yah, I'm one of those moms. They aren't wearing them out to play in the yard and they aren't wearing them to teeball. School and "good" is it. We'll see how long this last.

Off to watch Idol. Can't wait to see who the final 2 are. My predictions are: Danny and Adam.

Mother's Day 2009

I hope everybody had a nice mother's day. I did! No breakfast in bed but my boys did sleep in till 9:30 and for that I am very grateful. I love to sleep in. Then it was sort of business as usual so we could get around and up to my sisters. The boys and Brett did get me some really great smelling lotions and a new beach chair. Can't wait to use the chair in a couple of months at the beach. Then we headed to my sister's for a chicken bbque and spent some time outside watching the kids and enjoying time with our mom. I hope everybody had a wonderful day!

My sister, my mom and I......(funny story....we all wore black today. Had no idea that we were all dressing the same but as I got to the house and was the last one we all sort of laughed when we saw we had on black) Me and my boys.....Yah, this picture was like pulling teeth. OMG....nobody wanted to smile, Dylan didn't want to be in it. His t-shirt he has on is so freaking true....100% Good, 10% of the time! It's funny and so true. Not that he is Bad, he is just so mischievous.

Saturday, Tanya and I took the kids to the Shrine Circus. We weren't going to go but then I got given free tickets so we went. Everbody went but Cody...he didn't want to so he spent the day with his Dad. The kids had fun and the circus was good as usual. Tyler rode on the pony - something neither of his brother's have done. Again he has to one up them.

Mother's Day Breakfast

This morning at school we had our mother's day breakfast. The teachers do a nice job of putting a little something on for us mom's. The boys all drew drawings that were then laminated as our placemats. I crack up looking at them as their drawings are all so different. Tyler's was basically scribble, Dylan's was a little better but not much and Cody's was pretty good actually. I've said it before - Dylan will be my sport kid and Cody appears to be my artsy kid. He'll be in a band I'm sure of it! He drew some pretty good stick people and a tree....Cute! Then we also got a planted flower that the kids decorated the pot. This year they sang a song "I ___ my mom on mother's day", filling in the blank with hug, love. Short and cute! My mom was able to come with us too so that was nice as well.

It is kind of surreal to stand there with 3 kids all in preschool together. Some days I want to pull my hair out with the 3 of them - but days like today all I could do was smile with pride!

Happy Mother's Day weekend as us mom's deserve more than just a day! :)

Back at it...

Tonight we were back to t-ball practice. I just love seeing them on the field, interacting with other kids, some that they know some they don't, a coach, giving high fives, sweating, running, having so much fun. As we leave they are still talking about it and can't wait to go back.

Looking forward to the morning and my mother's day breakfast at pre-school with my 3 preschoolers. Not many people can say they have 3 preschoolers. I can! Most days it's over whelming or heck really most minutes....but on day's like "Mother's Day"...I get to take 3 with me and be proud of each and every one of them. I can't wait to go...see what they made and hear the little song that they are going to sing. I've heard bits and pieces but that's it.

The boys got their spring pictures taken and we received them the other day. I was so happy with how they turned out. Super super cute smiles from all 3 of them. I'll scan them soon so you can see!
