Croup
Took Tyler to the doctor today and they confirmed he has croup. Something I thought only babies got but I guess not. Not a whole lot to do for it except keep him comfortable. They did give us a steroid script but said to wait a day to fill it. Only because it would only be needed if he showed signs of strider during play. Which until today he hasn't done much of. Today was the first day he has said much of anything also. I ended up not filling the script because he did well today. So we'll see how the night goes but I think the worse is behind us. His chest and ears were all clear. So that was good - no ear infection so the tubes are open and doing their job! :)

Weekend Catch Up
We had a beautiful weekend. Spending most of it outside. Although I do have one sick little boy. Tyler woke up Saturday running a fever and has a horrible barking cough. He isn't saying much so I think his throat really hurts. He is drinking but not eating much. Ended up getting sick Sat. night and still not feeling good today. So we'll see what tomorrow brings and if he needs to go to the doctor.
It was nice though this weekend as Brett and I got a night out with no kids. We went to a co-workers anniversary party. Had a blast! Brett mixed me up some great Amaretto sours and they went down like water.
Ended the weekend with a visit from the ice cream truck. The boys absolutely love when they hear that bell dinging! As he was dishing up our ice cream - I was talking with him about coming to Tyler's birthday party. So I think we'll have the ice cream man stop by for all the kids to get ice cream off the truck. That should be fun!

Happy Friday
TGIF!!! That says it all. Actually was a pretty good day. It was a quite day at work so I got some things taken care of.
On Monday, I had gotten a call from Dr. Kerr. He called home and said he would call me back. I hadn't heard from him and thought it was interesting that the doctor was calling me personally. So I called him today. I should mention he is the PS of the Craniofacial team I am on. He wanted to call and thank me for all that I do. Wow - wasn't expecting that! I guess he had just been at a conference and heard from another parent advocate and realized what they were saying is what we already do. So he wanted to let me know that they were thinking of me. I apologized for not being at the past few meetings. I explained my work schedule has picked up and between that and the boys I just haven't gotten away for a few hours on the day of meetings. He said if there was anything he could ever do about that to let him know. Hmm.. gets my wheels turning because if I could get paid doing what I am doing, I would! So I thought that was so nice and I took the 'atta girl' to heart!
Then I called Debbie and she and I had a nice chat! She gives atta girl comments all the time but it's really her that deserves them. I wouldn't be where I am at without her. I really can't wait for my family to meet her in August.
Yesterday in the mail I got a letter from the school district. It was for Tyler and transitioning him to CPSE. He's approved! Great....however, I find it very odd that I never had to go to a meeting with the committee. With Cody I had to go to 3 to get him in and keep his services. And Cody, was the one born with a birth defect - not Tyler. It does not make sense to me. To me it seems I should have to fight for Tyler - not for Cody.
Also got news today that it looks like Tyler will get to go to preschool in September. Cody and Dylan's teacher said that it was in the budget to accept 3 year olds and the budget was passed. He'll most likely go in the afternoon, and C&D will stay going in the morning. So it will be a lot of running but Brett's schedule allows that. Nothing is permanent yet...we should know a 100% by June.
To end Friday - we all met the Smith family out for dinner and then hit the bike trail. The kids all got to ride their bikes and then play on a really nice playground that is off of it. They had a blast! It sprinkled for a minute but then it turned out to be a great night.

Some Thoughts
Does it ever seem like a week just shouldn't have started. That has been my week. First with Monday taking the explorer to the shop to find out it was going to cost $1000 to fix it. UGH. Then to find out the credit card we had hoped to use only had $500 on it so we had to pay the other $500. Not what we were expecting.
Yesterday was an OK day I guess. Work is just busy and we are short a person therefore I tend to have to do more. Which I don't mind because the day goes by quick but it's doing work I don't like. Oh well. It was also Molly's 10th birthday. Can't believe she is that old all ready. I remember getting her. Brett and I had just moved into our first apartment together in January of 98. By that June we wanted a puppy. So we checked the ads and found one for Lab/golden retriever puppies. We were so excited. As we drove out we talked about names. Then we got closer to the address and thought "no way". We pulled in this drive way and almost turned around. It didn't look fit for dogs let alone people. Yet out came this skinny man, heavy set women and a couple of kids. On the side of their house was a huge pen full of Dobermans. I remember asking Brett "are those the dogs". It wasn't. We got to this little pen with the most cutest puppies around. They were so active and it was hard to choose. We picked "our girl" as she was the most active. We named her Molly! Oh yah, she is not what the ad said she was - she is more a Sheppard/Doberman mix. She's been the princess ever since - with everybody! She didn't like Shaun at first (I don't think that skinny man was nice to the dogs) and Shaun is tall and thin. But she loves him now!!! She is really a great dog and I hate to admit that she doesn't get the attention that was once given to her. There are 3 little boys that kind of took over. She is great with them and all the kids. So we did celebrate with her tonight. I got mini cupcakes and the kids all sang Happy Birthday to her. She was just excited to be getting something so yummy!
Today was Administrative Professional Day!!! I'm one of them. However, I realized that I work with a bunch of men and um.....they forgot! They admitted it and are making it up tomorrow taking me to lunch - my choice. The finance staff got me a nice card and tulips. They are pretty - I just hope I can keep them that way! Actually I am giving them to Tanya to plant at her house. I think we'll put them around Letti's tree.
Our weather had been great and the boys have been outside A LOT! I'm glad tomorrow is Thursday and the end of the week is near. Looking forward to Saturday night as Brett and I are going out. My co-worker has their first anniversary and we are partying at their house. Should be a great time - I'm taking Amaretto sours with me! Yum, Yum! (right Tash)

What kind of person are you?
This morning as I was dropping the boys off at school the teacher says "your a morning person", "your not so much".................What order do you think she was talking about? Cody = Morning person. Dylan = Not so much! Cody goes walking into the class full of smiles, laughing, gets his coat off and heads to play. I'm reminding him to give me a kiss goodbye. Dylan is dragging his feet, hangs up his coat, never cracking a smile, walks me to the door, gives me about 30 kisses goodbye and then heads off to play.
So as I got in the car to drive to work I was reflecting on who they take after. I am a morning person. I wake up to face the world and put a smile on my face. I think Cody takes after me. Then I think of Brett and he is SO NOT a morning person. If he could sleep till Noon that is wonderful. Dylan is exactly the same way!
So leave me a comment and share what type of person you are...............

Evaluation
Tyler had his CPSE psyche evaluation today. He did very well and scored well within normal limits for a child his age. (I had no concerns, this is a formality to as he approaches 3). The state drops them and the school districts pick them up. We went to the same place that I had taken Cody to for his. The ladies are wonderful and remembered Cody and asked how he was. They even remembered Lucky Smiles and asked how that was. Ty got to play with puzzles, then little blocks and then had to pick pictures out of a book. He did super well! I'll get his true IQ test scores in a few weeks.
So while that went well........the car managed to put a damper on the rest of the day. Brett has been complaining that the Explorer was making noises. He called me Sunday night and said it sounded horrible and he was bringing it home. So he took my van back to work. He dropped it off at the tire place this morning and wouldn't you know the back wheel bearings are shot and need replaced to the tune of $500 a tire. Are you kidding me??!!! So........we pick it up tomorrow. I H.A.T.E. to spend money on cars. I want them to work the minute I get in them - but I hate to put money in them. Dumb I know but I still hate it.
Another great day here and the boys rode, rode, rode until their little hearts were content. It's supposed to be great all week. I am looking forward to it.

Ice Cream Truck!
We had a beautiful Spring day today. Temps were in the high 80's and we spent most of the day outside. I mentioned yesterday that Tyler learned how to ride a big boy bike. Well we have 2 bikes so you see where this could be a problem. There are 3 little boys. Not to mention one bikes' peddle keeps coming out. Not sure if the screw is stripped or what. So Brett and I talked and said Tyler should probably get a new one for his birthday. Well we didn't quite make it till then. He got it today! A spider man bike. He loves it and does even better on it. I am still amazed that he is only 2 and peddling a bike. He's grown up to fast! (Sniff, sniff)
So this afternoon as we were in the back yard on the swings - I saw the ice cream truck go by and stop out front. I was trying to remember if I had cash on me and surprisingly I did. So we headed out front. They were so excited to get their ice cream from a truck. They decided to get popsicles that were shaped like Spiderman and Sponge Bob. I am thinking this won't be our last stop at the ice cream truck. Actually I am thinking about seeing if I can get him to come to Tyler's birthday party.

We finished this great day off by cooking on the grill. Gosh I love and missed grill food. Brett did chicken and potatoes! It was great. Not to mention clean up is so much easier when it's cooked outside. Brett gave baths and gave me a break. With his schedule, I always do them. The boys enjoyed that extra time with Dad tonight.
