And our teacher is....

We are anxiously awaiting to see who the boys teachers will be for next year.  Of course we haven't gotten Cody and Dylan's yet....but Tyler's came the other day.  I am soooo happy he got Mrs. Cluck.  Same teacher that Cody had.  I loved both of the boys but I think Tyler will mesh well with her.  So we will wait to see who the other two have and then it's the daunting task of back to school shopping!  Oh who am I kidding...I love to shop!  :)

Catching Up.

Wow - so much to write about...shame on me for not doing it.  So now I get to search my memory bank and write.  I some how think that only the "important" stuff will still be up there.  :)

Kindergarten Celebration - June 18th.
Such a cute event.  We were quickly told by the principal though that it was a "celebration" and not a "graduation" as Binghamton only has one of those.  Whatever! Really, the school can't recognize the completion of Kindergarten.  They sang lots of songs....Cody and Dylan both had a part in one song.  They held up flash cards through the song.  It was very nice that they stood next to each other for this event.  Because after that - they went to opposite sides and trying to watch 2 kids at one time while they aren't standing next to each - yah, next to impossible.  Cody sang his songs proudly....Dylan sang them as if he was annoyed he had to be doing it.  After the songs and little video/picture presentation we headed to the cafe for cake.  Still can't believe the school year is over and they are now 1st Graders. 

Relay for Life - June 18th
Starting last year my company has organized a team to walk. Last year we did much better with raising money but for our small group we still manager to raise almost $2000.  So that was awesome.  This year we had fantastic weather - no rain - and lots of sun and HOT.  It gives you goosebumps as you stand there and clap as the survivors walk by.  It's a lot of fun to walk, great exercise and raising money for a great cause.  Not to mention it's something you can do with the whole family.  My kids love to walk the track. 

Pre-school Graduation - June 21st
Tyler had his moving up day.  Ty is my shy kid.  Not sure where he gets that from although Brett seems to think he was shy when he was younger.  I'll have to see if I can find any truth to this.  Cause lord knows he's not shy now.  They sang a couple of songs and Tyler finally started singing the second song.  They wore cute little blue graduation hats.  I thought I had a hard time with C&D moving up - I really can't believe my baby is going off to school in September.  That doesn't seem possible at all! 

Tyler's Birthday - the big #5!
After a quick trip to Cuba for a graduation party, we came home on Sunday to celebrate Tyler's birthday.  He choose to have a batman birthday party.  Although if you asked him what he wanted it was Toy Story everything. :)  We had a small gathering, had invited the preschool class and was expected 4 kids to show up plus or normals.  Well here is a big pet peeve of mine - if you RSVP you are coming and then don't come - you need to call.  It's so rude!  That happened with 3 kids.  UGH.  So then as we are about a 1/2  hour into the party doesn't a kid show up - that we had no idea was coming.  OK, whatever - glad he came as Tyler and him really did get a long great this year.  However, he shows up with no gift.  Not even a card.  Now it's not about the presents but really not even a little something.  $5, whatever!  So I thought maybe the mom would bring a card back with her when she came to pick him up....nope!  Then she had the nerve to tell me that she'll be inviting Tyler to his party in August. Yah, we aren't going!  But we had fun, fun, fun and the weather was awesome.  The kids played and jumped on the trampoline and we had cake and ice cream and it was great.  He had a smile all day and that's what counts. 

So now we are onto a busy next couple of weeks and I'm thinking the month of July will fly.  I am silently hoping anyways....as we head for our family vacation the first part of August!  :)

Kindergarten Screening

Well I have attended my last Kindergarten screening today.  It will be so weird to have all 3 of our boys in school next year.  Today was Tyler's day to shine and as I drove to the school to meet Brett and him, I couldn't help but think of the surprise that he gave us when we found out we were expecting him.  We weren't trying (like we had with the boys), we were very reserved when we found out but we were very excited.  It seems like the last almost 5 years have flown by with him.  At times I look at him and think he is much older than he is.  That is probably because he does or tries to do everything his brother's can.  There are times I don't see the age difference between them. 

We got to the school and he was ready.  He's excited about going to the same school as his brother's.  I was super happy to see Mrs. Cluck standing waiting for him.  (She's Cody's teacher and I love her) She was very anxious to meet him.  Off they went to do their little "testing".  Brett and I sat and watched him through the windows.  We could tell he was nervous...he fidgets when he is nervous.  He's a shy kid.  But he did great and I was so proud of him.  Mrs. Cluck ate him up and said how she could see traits of Cody and Dylan in him.  I think he's a great mix of the two of them.  I've got my fingers crossed that he ends up on her class list for September. 

School starts September 8th but before that.....we have lots of fun stuff to do!  :)  For one, he turns 5 in exactly a month!  Yeah!!!

Tyler's ENT update

Tyler had his 6 month follow up from his last surgery. Ear tubes are looking great. Still in place and nice and open - working just the way they are supposed to. I was anxious for this visit as he was going to have a hearing test. He hadn't had one since 2007 so it's been a while. Even though he told me he wasn't going to do it....he did and he did fantastic. He passed with flying colors. No gray area of concern. She totally made it fun and he loved it. The ENT is very happy and we go back in another 6 months. :) I love these easy appointments!

Staying a mystery....

Some things are just meant to stay a mystery. I guess as a mom of 3 boys - I should get used to that. Brett took Tyler to the orthopedist yesterday for his follow up on his hand. Apparently the brace has been working. Tyler has had no more complaints of pain in the hand. They had told me that they would re-xray the hand at the follow up but Brett said they didn't. So we won't know if he actually might have had a hair line fracture...or if in fact he tore some cartilage.....but whatever he did - it appears to be all better! He is to wear the brace for another week and we are to notify them if he has any more complaints.

So - the hand hurting/injury is going to stay a mystery.......

And if anybody knows me........ I HATE THAT!!!! :) I can't help it! I like to know all the "W's"..what/when/where/why.....it's a fault of mine! :)

Isn't he cute!?!?

Here he is sporting his brace. He smiles for everything. When the girl was taking x-rays a couple days ago she said told him to say "cheese" when she took the picture - so he did! Yah, my kids are used to cameras in their faces!
He got this on Friday. Friday night he had a rough night. On and off during the day on Saturday he complained of it hurting and then again Saturday night he had a really rough night. It's so hard to see your kids cry about something that you have no idea what it feels like for them and then to not be able to take the pain away. Sunday was a good day though. I stuck to the motrin every 6 hours and Sunday night he slept all night - like a baby! So.....we just watch it and pray for a good night every night.

Tyler's mystery....Updates!!!!

As if Brett's surgery hasn't given me enough to think about - Tyler decided I needed more. Monday night, Brett took Tyler to his bed. He woke up and started to cry and told Brett his hand hurt and that he wanted tylenol. The rest of the night he was very restless. Tuesday as we were up very early to get to the hospital, Tyler woke as well. He was crying and said his hand hurt. He got more tylenol and I told my mom I would check in after we got to the hospital. Throughout the day he seemed fine. Using it some, sometimes favoring it, nothing was consistent. I called back later in the day and he had another rough wake up from his nap so I called the doctor. Since I was at the hospital with Brett, we made a late appointment. I dropped Brett off and picked up Tyler. Dr. M checked him all over and didn't really see anything. Tyler at that point wasn't saying it was hurting. Weird! So he said to watch it and let him know how the night went. Well......the night didn't go as well as I hoped. Started about 12:30 and he woke up crying. We did tylenol and I slept with him. He tossed, turned, moaned, cried, grabbed his hand, I held him for 2 hours and that seemed to help. So this morning, I called the office and they said we should have x-rays. We went to the hospital and he did awesome! Totally turned the charm on for the tech. Sat perfectly still and she got her pictures and then he got lots of cool toys - including a tattoo! The scans were ordered stat so we sat and waited to talk with the doctor. Good news - no break! Bad news is that we have no idea why his hand hurts. Doctor said it could be a hair line fracture that the x-ray didn't pick up. It would in about 2 weeks with the growth of new bone but I'm just hoping that's not it. He said to see how tonight goes and if we have a repeat of a bad night that tomorrow we can do blood work to test for an inflammation somewhere.

So....time will tell!

I just want my boys healthy again. We have 10 days till 2 little boys turn 6~~~~ and we need to P.A.R.T.Y!!!!!

UPDATE
I called the doctor's office this morning and wouldn't you know our doctor wasn't working today. I explained to the nice lady at the desk our "issue" and she said...Dr. M will be in on Tuesday. UM yah, you must not of heard me - I am NOT waiting till Tuesday. So she said she would pull the chart and I stressed to her to call Dr. M. or have another doctor review it.

I called back about 1:30 and got the same "nice girl" (are you sensing my sarcasm just yet) and she says "oh darn it, Dr. M never did come in. Yah I was pretty sure he wasn't coming in this morning. I politely informed her that I was not waiting. The doctor and I had talked our next step was blood work and that's what I was doing. I gave her 20 minutes and told her I needed a call back as I was leaving work.

They called and as I thought - the other doctor followed Dr. M's order for blood work. So back to the hospital Tyler and I went this afternoon. I am slightly ticked we just didn't do this yesterday. He should of ordered x-rays and blood work - hoping that one of them will let us know what is going on. Tyler has never had blood work so this was a first. He did fantastic. He cried for a quick second but the girls taking the blood were excellent with him. They gave him his own glove to wear and then he got to hold the vial of blood as they changed them. (he had to have 5 vials taken). Then he got stickers and we were done. We should hear something back tomorrow. Just hoping for a peaceful night of sleep. It's the worst feeling not being able to help them.

UPDATE:
The doctor called us back this morning and went over the blood work. All blood work came back OK. They tested his white blood cells, tested for inflammation, thyroid (his TSH level did come back a little high at 4.54 - but normal range is .4-4 so it's just over), one other test not due back till Monday - but all in all - the blood work didn't give us the clue we were looking for. Now we are all kind of stumped. He had another long night of discomfort (this has been going on since Monday night). Her next thought would be sending him for a bone scan or an MRI. But instead they decided it was time for us to go see an orthopedist. Thankfully we got an appointment today.

Met with a great orthopedist. He was super nice towards Tyler and really helped take the edge off. He examined his thumb area and just said that the x-rays looked fine. He didn't see any break. He too said that there still could be a hair line fracture that we aren't seeing. He mentioned that there is a lot of cartilage in the hand and that it's possible that he tore some of it. So he recommended a brace to help stabilize the wrist/hand. Wants him in that for 2 weeks and then wants us back for x-rays. We see him on 1/28.

So after we left that office we headed back across town to the health supply store. I walked up to the counter and gave my script and the lady asks "do you have an appointment".....um no, didn't know I needed one. She asked "do you want one"....yah - right now! Duh!!! Well you might have to wait - whatever - I am not leaving here without a brace. So we sat and waited - no big deal. They had crayons and a cool water cooler that helped to fill Tyler's bladder. :) They fitted him for a brace and home we came. I have pictures that I will post. He looks so cute in it - but then again he looks so cute in anything.

All of this good work at the doctor's got him a new toy - he picked a matchbox car!

Wiggles Show

What a fun fun night we had. Kind of neat that it was just Tanya and I and our youngest. That doesn't happen often. We had decent seats for being FREE! The little boys aren't into having all that stuff to eat - so we walked out of there with $15 stuff Murray guitars and that was it. Not bad for a Wiggle concert. Especially when we took Cody and Dylan a few years ago we spent $50+ a piece on the tickets.

It was a great show. Great back drops...lots of acrobatics, not only from the Wiggly dancers but also the Wiggles themselves. And they are getting up there in age. They sang a variety of songs from all of their different DVD's so that was cool. Connor and Tyler had a blast! Tyler said his favorite was Fruit Salad and Connor loved Hot Potato and the drums. They rocked it out together on their guitars while Murray sang "Play your guitar with Murray".

Sam and Murray went around the audience and said Hello's and Sam came right up by us. He stopped by our seats and Tyler got a very personal Hello from Sam. That was very very cool. When Cody and Dylan went, Murray came up by us. I think it's great that they do that for the folks that are sitting up in the seats and not on the floor. Honestly, I was happy we didn't have floor seats. Kids were all over the place and it just looked like utter craziness. But the kids all do have a great time.

Tyler's post op

Tyler had his post-op appointment today. Brett took him as I got afternoon duty with running them around for appointments. All is great. His tubes look great. Brett got to look at them and said they are green. His frenulum is healing nicely and basically that was it. The appointment was at 8am and Brett was calling me at 8:20. So it was quick. He goes back in 6 months for a re-check and a hearing test.

To finish our afternoon the boys got their flu shots. They were real troopers. Tyler wanted to go first. He cried a second and that scared his brothers. Dylan went and did great. Cody went last and that probably wasn't so good. His anxiety kicked in over-drive. I am hoping that the flu bug will stay away from our house this year.

With these 2 appointments today also wraps up our month of doctor visits. Awesome, huh? It's only the 6th and we are done. I for one and am very excited about that. September was a hellish month of running to this appointment and that appointment. UGH!

Not much else happening with us. The boys love school. They wake up on the weekends and want to go. I think they are challenged every day and they love it. Tyler loves it to. Watching them grow up is so awesome! Soccer is going good. There are only 7 kids so that is a little disappointing but the boys are all having fun. Brett has been busy with football games. Running all weekend long but enjoying it.

Surgery Pics

Surgery is all done. After some resting he was finally ready to eat his blue popsicle. It tasted great and he was done with it in seconds.

Tyler's surgery

Tyler made out very well with his 3rd surgery. He had new tubes placed, his frenulum cut and they scoped out his adenoids to check for re-growth. Our day started at 8am. He was happy-go-lucky walking into the hospital sporting his new fireman pj's and his new moose. Got to his room, the tv to himself and he was good. He weighed in at 40lbs and is 3ft.2" tall. I told him it was time to change into the gown and he wasn't interested. But he did it eventually and he looked cute might I add. As it got closer to his time they came in with his "happy juice" and OMG was he funny. By the time he went into surgery he looked like he had just came out of the bar. He was giving everybody 'the eyebrow' and it was hysterical. The doctor commented on it in our talk.

Dr. King removed his old tubes that had fallen out and replaced them with long term tubes. These should stay in for a couple of years and serve there purpose with the fluid. He had a lot of fluid. So much so that it had started to turn into a glue like substance and compress the ear drum. He had his adenoids scoped for re-growth. There was some that had grown back so that was removed. He also had his frenulum cut (piece of skin from the lip to the gums). Tyler's was very pronounced and has caused a nice space in his front teeth. This should allow his adult teeth to come in with nice spacing. He has his follow up on the 6th and a hearing test down the road.

After surgery he woke up NOT HAPPY! When I thought he was in pain and discomfort (which he was) was from surgery - I think it was because he didn't want that gown on. We put him back in his fireman jammies and life was good. Till he got sick! That's why you wear those hospital gowns but try telling a 4 year old that. They ended up giving him the anti-nausea medicine and within no time his coloring came back. He rested and watched TV. Got up and had to pee. Wanted that IV out like no tomorrow. Then he felt like a popsicle and devoured it down.

After he got home he was ready to go. I had to remind him that the doctor said no and that he had just had surgery. Kids really do bounce back quick!

We've got some clean teeth.....

Today was our 6 month cleaning for the boys. Cody got to go first. He had a couple x-rays done and then the normal cleaning. The dentist was very impressed with the palate expander. He has 2 loose teeth (bottom). Not much else really to report with him as he is seen monthly now by the orthodontist. Dylan went in next. He to had a couple x-rays taken and his normal cleaning. He has already lost his bottom 2 teeth and adult teeth are already in place. The teeth on each side of the front ones are loose. She said mostly because his bottom teeth are bigger and are crowding them. She noted that Dylan has an over bite (sigh, as Cody had an under bite). His 6 year molars on bottom are coming in. She said that at our next cleaning in April, they will take a panoramic xray and possibly refer us to an ortho. (double sigh). Really, 2 kids needing Ortho - dental insurance sucks! UGH! Not stressing yet - we'll cross that bridge when it comes. Tyler was last. He to got x-rays but then she found he didn't need them so he got to bring them home. He thought that was pretty cool. He got his teeth cleaned. He has a pice of skin that runs from his lip to his teeth cause a gap in them. Our ENT is going to cut this but I wanted to make sure the dentist thought it was necessary. It is! She said that if we don't get it cut now, his adult teeth will just bounce off from it and he'll have the same gap.

I was very happy though that we have stayed CAVITY FREE!!!! Yeah! They are good brushers - with a little push from mom!

Tyler's ENT visit

Well it's been a little bit since I last posted. Our summer is coming to a close. Right around the corner is the first day of school, long weekends of football games, a couple family birthdays (my mom and Brett), some pretty important doctor's visits for Cody and Tyler and of course now SURGERY.......

Tyler went to the ENT for his check up mid June. She noticed fluid on the right ear and told me to watch it. Call her if there were any infections, have the ped. check it at his check-up and to see her in Sept. Pediatrician checked the ear in July and there was still fluid. Just shy of our Sept. visit, he started complaining of ear pain. So we moved the appointment up and they found the fluid to still be there. She put him on Amoxicillan, gave him nasonex and said we better get a surgery date.

Today we had our appointment with the surgeon. He believes that because the fluid in the right ear has been there for a few months now it's time for another set of tubes. He said normally kids don't need another set especially after having their tonsils and adenoids out. The left ear looks OK but he would check it out better later. He thinks it's best to put long term tubes in. The thing with these is they don't "fall out" they would need to be removed - so another surgery down the road. These are the same type of tube that Cody has. Tyler has also been clearing his throat - a lot! So much that I didn't notice it at first - I think I had become used to it. Or I just didn't want to make it be something. My sister noticed it and said something and that's when I really stayed tuned into it all. The doctor thinks that possibly there could be some adenoid re-growth but he's not sure if it's enough that needs attention. But that too will get checked out during surgery. And lastly during surgery, they will cut the piece of skin that runs from his gum to his teeth. We all have this - Tyler's is just more prominent and our dentist believes it will cause a gap in the front teeth. So he will cut that and we shouldn't have any problems. Surgery is scheduled for 9/29.

I seem to have fallen off the band wagon on blogging. I need to get better. We are heading to the in-laws for the long holiday weekend. Well after football games tomorrow. September tis the season for football! Cody and Dylan start Kindergarten on the 9th. They are both extremely happy about going. Not sure if they will be happy when I wake them up at 7am but they are looking forward to going. Cody has an appointment with Dr. Wu that same day. Hoping for good results from the blood work and that he can stop taking his thyroid medication. Tyler starts pre-school on the 11th. Same teacher/same school/same set of kids - so it should be an easy transition back. Brett is going to be picking up a part-time job if you will. My company is trying to get a huge project out the door and to Kaiser - we have manufactured this huge Robot system for filling prescriptions. So, with that we have all been pulling double shifts and more help is needed. So Brett is going to work in the AM to help us all out. My mom and Brett celebrate birthdays this month. And to end out our busy month of September, Cody has another follow up with his palate expander. Which is going great. Then Tyler's surgery. Check back often as I'll have lost of updating post to the above!!!

Tyler 4 yr. check up

Tonight was Tyler's 4 year check up. The doctor had a lot of questions but I didn't really have any major concerns. He's right on track. We talked about his ears and the fluid that was on his right ear back a couple weeks ago. Sad to report it's still there so that doesn't make me all warm and fuzzy and I'm thinking it's still going to be there in Sept. and we'll need another set of tubes. We will see. He weighs 38 1/2 pounds and is 38 1/4" tall. He even passed his vision test! He got 1 shot and did great. It was very cute because he told Cody to watch him cause he wouldn't cry. Cody on the other hand had to get 4 (all his shots for turning 5 and going to Kindergarten) and he wasn't happy about it at all. The nurse was super with him and he did get them. He has such anxiety over things and if anybody knows how to take that away from kids - let me know.

Tyler's ENT visit

Ty had a check up with the ENT today. Brett and I noticed about a month ago that you could pull his right ear lobe and see the tube sitting in his ear. It's still there and the tube in the left ear is also out. His left ear has closed up nice and looks great.....not the same for the right ear. He's got fluid sitting there and it's a little pink. Not infected but it could become that way. She told me to watch for any balance issues, him saying "uh, what, etc...indicating that he can't hear" and any infections. We have to go back in 3 months and if their is still fluid then we will have to get another set of tubes. OR if we should get an infection she wants to know and we'll address it sooner. Keeping my fingers crossed that the fluid will go away and no more tubes necessary. However, the only good thing is that he also has a very noticeable piece of skin from his upper lip to the front teeth that our dentist would like clipped. So if he needs more tubes, then the ENT can clip the skin as well. So we wait.....and watch.....and will see the pediatrician for his 4 year check up sometime in July so we'll see if by chance the fluid is going away.

Tyler's 4th Birthday

Tyler had a GREAT 4th birthday. We woke up to some rain and cooler conditions on Saturday and I was quickly having a little chat with the weather man as he LIED about the weather. Once I got over it....we got busy to setting up the tent, Brett went and got the bounce house, then I to get the balloons and then it was time to go to the fire station.

What an awesome job they did for us at the fire station. We met with 2 fire men and they quickly took Tyler and up in the truck he went. He got to steer, blow the horn (picture below), turn the truck on, turn the lights on. He LOVED it. Then they took us around the truck and showed us what was in each compartment. After that the fireman slid down the pole and then all the kids got to try it out. Then they got out all the gear and he put it all on for the kids to see. He explained everything as he went and did a really good job at. The fireman called Dispatch and had them run a test so the kids could hear the tones. It was a lot of fun and I think they all learned something. We took a quick photo op in front of the truck and you can imagine how hard it is to get all the kids to look at the camera. After we left the fire station, we came back home to enjoy the bounce house. I have to say the bounce house was worth every penny. It was a super nice house with a covered top - which came in very handy as it did rain on us. The kids jumped and jumped and jumped some more. We enjoyed a super yummy ice cream cake, presents and then it was time to beat the pinata. The weather did not cooperate at this point so we had to move the pinata to the front porch and the kids got to release some energy. They all got to hit it a couple of times and then it broke open.

Here is my birthday boy. He came to bed and was full of stories. It was wonderful to hear him explain his day and hear the excitement in his voice. He truly had a wonderful birthday!!!! I still can't believe he is 4! Happy Birthday Tyler - Mommy, Daddy, Cody and Dylan love you!

Moving on up....

Tyler's last day of pre-school was also 6/19 and they had a "moving up" ceremony. He was in the schools pre-k3 program and will go back for Universal Pre-K in September. He will repeat the same type of roll that Cody and Dylan did......Same teachers, most of the same friends. They had a cute little ceremony. Sang their ABC song, the bumble bee song and a cute preschool song. And I was very surprised that Tyler actually SANG the songs. Tyler did a lot of growing this year. When we started the school year he wouldn't talk to the teachers and barely interacted with the kids. Very shy as he has been around his big brothers all his life. About middle of the year the teacher said that he was coming around and by the end he was talking, playing and participating in sessions. He turns 4 on Saturday!

My Buddy

My Buddy....My Buddy....My Buddy and me! (are you singing the song yet). Tyler and Connor are pretty good buddies. Being only 18 months apart, they are finally at the age where age isn't to much of a difference and they get along wonderfully. So last Saturday, Karly was gone to a birthday party and Tanya called to ask if Tyler would like to come and play. It's not often between the two households that the younger two get to do anything without their older, more domineering siblings around. So Tyler and Connor had the house to themselves and LOVED it! They played trucks, watched the Wiggles, ate, played kitchen, doctor, pulled out all the stuffed animals and carried them to the upstairs, ate some more, played more, ate again (these boys like to eat) and then it was tub time, blankie time and time for Tyler to go home. They really are "buddies".

Clean Teeth

My 3 little boys have super clean teeth tonight. They all went to the dentist for their 6 month cleaning. And I have to brag that they did a FANTASTIC job and everybody cooperated. They made there mom very happy to say the least. This was Tyler's first trip to the dentist. Well, technically it was his second but the first time didn't go very well. This time he sat in the chair himself, got his teeth cleaned, got his x-rays and was so well behaved.

All 3 = no cavities!!! Great news!

Tyler has great spacing....about 20 teeth....the only we talked about with the skin from his upper lip to his teeth. She said it is pretty thick and we just need to watch it. If he should fall he might cut it. When his adult teeth come in we would watch to see if it had any affect on the pull of his lip. If for any reason, he should get another set of tubes in his ears - then to go ahead and have the ENT cut it.

Dylan got exciting news....he has 2 loose teeth!!! He was so excited. They are just loose - and not wiggling very much. It could be 6 months to a year before they fall out but they have started. He could have cared - he was so excited and had to come home and call people. Getting his teeth cleaned is like an old habit to him. He does such a gtreat job. He's got great spacing as well.

Cody did wonderful too! The dentist said he has great bone structure. All his teeth appear healthy. The tooth in his palate is solid, healthy and has great bone support. All really good news. By looking at his old panoramic x-rays she said he has an extra tooth on his left side and a missing tooth on the right. She said that once we start the palate expander if we should need any help or assistance and don't want to drive to Syracuse, that we can stop by and she will help.

So to end a great trip to the dentist - there was no payment needed and the boys got McDonald's.

Tyler Update

Before I beginning reflect on child 1 and 2....I must share some good news on child 3. Tyler had a check up with his ENT today. We haven't seen him since his surgery in Sept. 07 so it was time. Well we did see him quick for post-op but not a major check up. I was going to cancel this appointment but we are in the process of discharging him from speech so I wanted to be sure his ears were good. I figured they were and they are. He did fantastic today. Actually cooperated with the doctor and let him look in his ears, up his nose and down his throat....without crying! Great news for being 3. His tubes are in place still and open and doing there job. The doctor said his adenoids were "massive" and he said that is the largest word he uses when describing how big something is. Since his tonsils and adenoids have been removed Tyler sleeps great, eats with no problem, has come 50 miles in speech and hears fine (well as good as can be for being 3)....so we go back in 6 months for a hearing test. We are to watch for the tubes to fall out. The doctor said he normally gets 6 months to a year and a half on a set of tubes and we are knocking on the door....so we will wait.

However, as of Friday he will be finished with speech. A huge accomplishment! Tyler worked with Tish so well and they got him talking where we could all understand him. He still has some errors but not enough to keep him getting services. I have no doubt he will continue to do well.

These are the "blankie boys" as we have classified them. They love their "b's" and go no-where without them. Tyler's travels everyday to school in his back pack. Being attached to their "blankies" reminds me of my little brother.
