Rough Morning, but the day got better!

My morning started out pretty rough. Well it was fine up until the moment I had to come and wake the boys up. Cody got up fine. Dylan....well that was an entirely different story. From the minute I said "get up" he was whining he didn't want to go to school. They he fought me tooth and nail, crying and carrying on the whole way to the car. UGH! I was beyond frustrated. He did go to school and was fine so not sure what that was all about. He is so not a morning person. He reminds me so much of Brett it isn't funny. Marilyn even saw that this past weekend while she was here. Then my day started getting better after I heard from Kevin and Kristie. She had her 12 week doctor visit and little baby flower is growing. They sent a picture and it was so darn cute. Really taking shape and looking like a baby. Can't believe Kevin is going to be a Dad. I still remember him sneaking into my bedroom so we could tell each other what we were getting for Christmas. :)

Move onto lunch time......I came home and had lunch with Brett. My mom had taken the boys to her house (as our bathroom is getting a new floor). So it was nice to have lunch with Brett with no interruptions.

The night started to end on a low when I had to get gas - $3.55 a gallon - come on! But what are you going to do about that, right? So I watched Idol gives back and enjoyed the wide range of singers they had on.

Growing Up

Do you ever sit back and watch kids (your kids or those that are close to you) and say "when did they grow up"? I did that a few times this weekend. One time was Friday as I dropped the boys off to school and their pre-school pictures came in. My little boys are really growing up. I was amazed at how great these pictures were.

Then another instance of that came tonight. I had taken the boys outside to ride their bikes. The neighborhood kids had gotten home from school and had all gathered around to play. Dylan and Cody wanted in on it. At first the kids tried to say "your babies" but they were quick to say "no we aren't". So I sat and watched as they played (not even sure what they were playing). Then it got colder and I was ready to go in. Tyler was inside with Brett cooking dinner. Cody had had enough and came in. Dylan didn't want to. So I said he could stay out but wasn't to leave the back yard. So I stayed in the kitchen. Pasing from the window to the door watching him. When I could see I went to the porch. He had a blast!!!! He loved the freedom to play. He held his own too. Standing up when one boy pushed him down. Of course I wanted to go belt the kid but hey - I'm his Mom! All of my little boys are growing up!! Sniff, sniff!

Our Weekend

This weekend the boys got some quality time with Grandma. Grandma Marilyn came out Saturday for the night. The boys had been asking about her and Grandpa. We went to the mall as it was Farm Days and they bring in a bunch of old tractors and some animals. I wasn't as impressed this year as last. Last year you could go in and touch the animals - this year they had them all in pens and you can stick your hand through the gate and touch them. Then they had Ice cream and it was gone by the time we got there. So I had 3 disappointed little boys. They settled for Auntie Anne instead. The rest of Saturday night become a blur for me as after we ate dinner I started to feel horrible. Getting the chills, my head hurt, my throat hurt. So I was in bed by like 8. I was freezing yet hot. I woke up this morning with a killer migraine. Luckily Marilyn kept track of the boys for a while. So I have had zero energy today. I did spend some time outside with the boys as it was beautiful here today. Then Cody got sick tonight. He took a nap at like 5:30 so I am praying for an early bedtime. Hoping whatever this is it doesn't last long.

First School Dance

Tonight, Cody and Dylan had their first school dance. It was the Spring Pre-K Dance for all Binghamton pre-schoolers. Brett got out of work for a few hours so he could come and enjoy the fun with us. Tyler got to have quality time with Gimmie and Guy. When we got there they had to find their friend Alana. We found her family and sat with them while the kids enjoyed some pizza. DJ Johnny was busy signing and getting the kids on the dance floor. It took a little bit of coaxing but the boys finally went. They had fun and paled up with a few more of their school friends. I wasn't sure if they would dance. For a minute I found myself seeing them in 10 years being the boys that hold the wall up at the dance. Brett told them that the girls go home with the boys who dance (he must of found that out the hard way one time in his life). The DJ played mostly nursery type songs and then the standards (chicken dance, locomotion, limbo, twist from the Wiggles) It was fun!

ENT visit for Tyler

Tyler went to the ENT today for a 6 month check up from his tube/tonsil/adenoid surgery. All is well. He fussed a little while they looked in the ears but the tubes are both in place and open. Checked out his mouth and nose and we were on our way home. We go back in 6 months for another check and around December he will need another hearing test. I love good news!!!!

A compliment???

I got my hair cut tonight. It really needed it. I get home to find the boys outside riding their bikes enjoying our nice weather for a change. It actually hit almost 70 today. Tomorrow will be a different story though. So anyways, Cody sat next to me on the step and says "Mom, your hair smells like sweat". Gee, thanks Cody!!! Besides how do you know what sweat smells like.....KIDS!

A BOY thing!

So there are just some things in life that boys can do and girls can't. One of them is - pee standing up! With having three little boys learning to pee standing up and aim isn't always on (is it ever), I had to break down and find something to help me out. We only have one bathroom and it's upstairs. They sometimes don't always have the "holding it" down pat either so we have to have a potty chair for them downstairs. Luckily we have a little nook in the kitchen and have it there. However, this whole standing up to pee was MESSY! Check out our new potty chair - it's only for boys! It's called The Peter Potty, a stand up urinal for boys! So far it has paid for its self. The boys absolutely love it - and the thing actually flushes!
